The bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and sports studies with an emphasis in allied health provides you a background in kinesiology that prepares you for an allied health graduate program. Take prerequisite courses for allied health programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training and other allied health professions. Physical Education Teacher Education – all-level certification is designed to prepare teachers for early childhood through grade twelve in physical education.

Featured Courses
This course examines the acute responses and chronic adaptations of the body's physiological functions to exercise. Applied and theoretical issues related to physical activity will be examined. Topics include respiratory and cardiovascular physiology, neural control during physical activity, skeletal muscle contraction, exercise metabolism, temperature regulation during exercise, and body composition.
The study of the acquisition of psychom*otor skill and neuromuscular function in the control of movement. Topics include information processing, memory, skill acquisition and retention, and augmented feedback.
Basic facts and principles of human nutrition are presented. Study includes the physiological and psychological factors of food intake and utilization with emphasis on nutrition education for dietary improvements of groups and individuals.
This course introduces the concepts of mechanics as they apply to human movement, specifically those pertaining to exercise, sport, and physical activity. The effects of joint structures and muscles on movement will be emphasized.
