Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Information Professional to join the Information Services department to lead on Statutory and Mandatory Reporting.

Applicants must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as proven staff management experience. The post holder will be required to develop and maintain queries and processes, and to automate those processes where appropriate, to ensure all statutory returns are accurate and submitted on time.

The post holder will act as the Trust lead for statutory and contractual reporting including all commissioning, clinical and central return datasets.

Main duties of the job

To ensure all data activity collected, processed and reported is accurate, effective and to agreed timescales.

Ensure that target waiting times for inpatients and day case treatments, outpatients and diagnostics are monitored and potential breaches acted upon.To support the development of the Trust choice of reporting tools for the monitoring and reporting of Trust complianceTo take a key role in improving data quality throughout the Trust and promote the importance of data quality throughout the organisationWork with the Trust Data Quality team in identifying and resolving data quality issues

Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • Possess a degree level qualification in a relevant subject or Post Graduate Certificate in Health Information Systems, plus signification experience within NHS Management Information at Information Analyst level, or extensive equivalent analytical /statistical experience

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Have previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Possess specialist knowledge in the following areas
  • NHS data systems, data flows and the Data Dictionary
  • Computer literacy, coupled with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Developing complex spreadsheets, in particular through Microsoft Excel
  • Experienced to a high level in writing SQL queries or similar
  • Experience of writing VBA
  • Previous experience of Microsoft Power BI or similar Business Intelligence software

Desirable

  • Be a member of Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts (AphA)
  • Experience of writing VBA
